Reggae Sumfest is an annual summer music festival staged by Summerfest Productions Ltd. dedicated to showcasing the indigenous music of Jamaica, while also promoting the island as a vacation destination. First staged in 1993, the event has showcased the best talent in reggae music such as Shaggy, 2002 Reggae Grammy winner Damian “Junior Gong” Marley & the Ghetto Youths Crew, Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Steel Pulse, Ziggy Marley & the Melody Makers, Beres Hammond, Burning Spear, Bunny Wailer, Third World, Morgan Heritage, Maxi Priest, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Buju Banton, Shabba Ranks, and many more.

In keeping with our motto of “Promoting Music, the Universal Force”, we have sought to also present other music forms to their very diverse audience. To this end they have successfully incorporated international artists into the line up, namely Alicia Keys, Ja Rule, Ashanti, Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, Boyz II Men, K-Ci & JoJo, Dru Hill, Wyclef Jean, Joe and Blu Cantrell. The event has over the last ten years developed a reputation of being the first to bring a number of hot current artists to Jamaica.

Recipient of several awards, including Best Music Festival 2000 (Jamaica), Reggae Sumfest is widely regarded as the world’s premier reggae music event, and has developed an excellent reputation of presenting top class artists of the highest caliber and the best possible technical production. Reggae Sumfest receives significant media coverage each year from the international press core, such as MTV, MUCH Music, VIBE Magazine, BET, BBC and Channel O of South Africa. The festival attracts journalists and patrons alike from all over the world.

After 10 years the time has come to take the world’s greatest Reggae festival to American shores. With this in mind, Summerfest Productions Ltd. Will be staging the first Reggae Sumfest Miami on May 25, 2003 at Bicentennial Park located at 1075 N. Biscayne Blvd, Downtown Miami. The line up will include popular reggae and dancehall acts such as Sean Paul, Wayne Wonder, Beenie Man, Elephant Man, Lady Saw as well as noted International artists Wyclef Jean and Lil’ Kim.
