BIG YARD MUSIC; Shaggy’s home base and Reggae imprint has released a juggling riddim. Shaggy’s first single from his latest album “Sexy Lady” was produced by Christopher Birtch, the keyboard player/producer from his ‘HOT SHOT’ band. The riddim is one of Birtch’s creations and is the riddim track for this song. Songs on it include; “Gangster Ride” by Alozade featuring Ce’Cile, “Gonna Be The One” by Brian & Tony Gold, “Ice & Alize” by Bounty Killer featuring Angel Douglas, “Chemistry” from Chico, Shake It” by Rik Rok and of course the remix of “Hey Sexy Lady” by Shaggy which features Brian & Tony Gold, Sean Paul and Wil Smith!!!! Other artists on the riddim include; Danny English with Tia, Degree, Tanto Metro & Devontte, TOK and Wayne Marshall. Definitely nuff tunes there!

CAMERON’s crew “The Diplomats” which features CAM’RON, Freekey Zekey, Jimmy Jones, and Juelz Santa is about to drop an album. This album is coming via DEF JAM/Roc-A-Fella Records. Of course it features their current release “Dispet Anthem”. It also features a guest appearance by DMX on the song “What’s Really Good”. The full album is titled “Dipolmatic Immunity”. Be sure to look out for that one.

FIWI MUSIC is defiantly working hard at keeping up their momentum. YOGIE has teamed up with Dancehall deejay Danny English for “Who Dat”. WHO DAT is the latest riddim Yogie produced for FIWI music. It features; Danny English with “What Are You Doing Tonight”, Jelleestone and Elepehant Man with “Who Dat”, LEnn Hammond with “If It Is Alright”, Brah Yhan with “Get Over It”, Divine with “Make You Wanna Dane”, SONIA COLLYMORE’s “Stop The Talking” and Kris Kelli (a new female artist) and the song “Hide Away”. SONIC SOUNDS is handling the distribution of these singles out of Jamaica. Also important to look out for is the WHO DAT medley video recently shot!

Legendary Reggae singer, Johnny Osbourne is about to embark on a tour. Johnny’s remained a favorite in the Dancehall as his hits like “Ice Cream Love” are still a ‘have to’ when it comes to spinning the oldies. With a 25 year plus run, Johnny has been held in such high esteem that he was even featured on the last album from the now defunct group; Born Jamericans entitled “Yard Core”. He’s definitely been an inspiration to budding singers in Jamaica and his career is still holding strong.

MR CHEEKS is gearing up for his sophomore SOLO album. This album just dropped and is titled “Back Again”. Coming from Universal Records, the initial home to the Lost Boyz, this is the follow up to the album “John P. Kelly”. The new album features appearances by; CL Smooth, Glenn Lewis Mario Winans and Pete Rock. The first single out is “Crush On You” which is the track featuring the Winans. Mr Cheeks is also riding strong in the Billboard charts with his appearance on Lil’ Kim’s new single “The Jump Off”.

RED FOX has steadily maintained his career over the last several years. Back in the day when New York based Dancehall artists were being signed to majors, Red Fox was scooped up by Elektra. His first album, “As A Matter of Fox” was released in 1993. Fox made an impact in the US and Dancehall community with the song “Posse Off” with Screechy Dan. Over the years, he’s recorded boom tunes like; “Bashment Party” on the Showtime for Dave Kelly, “Missing You” with Gordon Duke and “They Don’t Know” previously out via Big Yard. Currently, his song “R U Ready” which features Maxi Priest is blaring across radio waves in New York. If you didn’t know and weren’t familiar enough with the Fox, you might think it was Shaggy at first listen. However, those that are familiar with Fox’s unique sound can immediate tell the difference. “R U Ready” is an amazing song and is most definitely radio friendly. With the right support, this could be the next cross over hit! Looking for a copy? Currently the single is being handled by Big Yard at 516-872-7933.

SNOOP DOG is getting his own TV show. His show ‘Doggy Fizzle Televizzle’ is being added to the summer line up on MTV. It will contain 6 episodes starting June 22nd. The show producers are looking to incorporate everything from people getting married, having children to Bar Mitzvah’s for Snoop to be a ‘surprise guest’ and be filmed for the show. In addition, you might have heard some rumors about MTV holding a Reggae video show. This isn’t quite accurate. Rather, MTV in England (MTV Base) has run a program slot called “Reggae Vibes” back in December 2002. Further, back in February, MTV Base ran some specials on Reggae featuring Sean Paul as a veejay/host.
