I
have
to
start
off
by
saying
2003
was
a
monumental
year
in
musicfor
a
variety
of
reasons.
First
being
the
obvious
progression
of
Dancehall
Reggae
music,
driven
by
the
astronomical
success
of
Sean
Paul,
who
has
broken
more
records
and
charts
for
Dancehall
than
any
other
Dancehall
artist
before
him
and
has
aided
in
the
education
of
this
music!
His
album,
“Dutty
Rock”
and
the
various
collaborations
released
throughout
the
year,
established
Sean
Paul
as
a
key
artist
to
reckon
with
selling
more
than
5
million
copies
worldwide!
Added
to
Sean’s
success
was
the
release
of
Buju
Banton’s
album,
Wayne
Wonder’s
conquering
of
US
radio
with
“No
Letting
Go”
and
Elephant
Man
bringing
his
energetic
enthusiasm
to
America
and
BET/MTV!
One
of
Dancehall’s
leading
riddims;
The
DIWALI
helped
to
break
R&B
artist
Lumi
Dee
in
the
spotlight.
(Although
I
for
one
don’t
appreciate
that
it
was
done
without
credit
being
given
to
the
riddim
being
a
Dancehall
riddim).
Other
albums
released
this
year
included;
Beres
Hammond,
Wayne
Marshall
and
Sizzla
–
what
an
amazing
amount
of
tunes
he
dropped
and
more!
Both
Ce’Cile
and
Mr
Vegas
signed
record
deals
with
Delicious
Vinyl
courtesy
of
Lickshott,
which
sadly
went
under
quickly
after
the
deals
were
done.
Vybz
Kartel
and
Kid
Kurrupt
signed
deals
with
Greensleeves
Records.
BIG
YARD
opened
shop
down
in
Jamaica,
signing
Kip
Rich
and
VP
also
opened
an
office
there
too.:::::::
