Wrap Up
By Rudegal.com
DON YUTE’s
album with Slipe-N-Slide/Capital
Records started
off with a bang:
with an album
listening party
for radio at the
Spring Fest in
Jamaica. The
selected single,
“Row Da
Boat” with
the Ying Yang
Twins didn’t
fair as well as
Capital Records
anticipated. However,
he’s gearing
up for the second
single, quite
possibly the collaboration
with ace
lyrical deejay
Spragga
Benz. Don’t
upcoming album
is titled “Boobilous”
and his site:
www.donyute.com
streams the video
for “Row
Da Boat”
– which
was shot in Jamaica.
GRANDMASTER
FLASH, whom we
all know by now
is one of the
founding fathers
of Hip Hop was
inducted to the
Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame recently.
Known for creating
the style of scratching
used amongst dj’s,
it’s also
his work as “Grandmaster
Flash & the
Furious Five”
that earned him
acclaim.
Their 1979 release
of “Freedom”
hit the Top 20
on R&B charts.
They also are
responsible for
the Hip Hop classics
“White Lines”
and “The
Message”.
Add Lady Saw

One of the new
names that has
been making a
buzz in Jamaica
these days is
I-WAYNE.
I-WAYNE is a new
singer to the
scene and has
already been charting
in the US, particularly
on the New York
Reggae Charts.
His song “Can’t
Satisfy Her”
is on a roll.
It’s been
on Richie B’s
Top 10 list in
Jamaica as well
as charting on
several radio
stations in Jamaica.
MR EASY is about
to shine! For
years, Easy’s
voiced solid tunes
over pulsating
Dancehall beats
working with acclaimed
producers such
as: Dave
Kelly, Mr Doo,
Tony Kelly and
Troyton Rami just
to name a few.
His song “Drive
Me Crazy”
on the BUY OUT
riddim has been
a staple in clubs
since it's release
four years ago.
Now it looks like
he’s getting
his chance to
blow big.
“Drive Me
Crazy” was
remixed for Kevin
Lyttle’s
album as a collaboration.
Armed with a new
tempo and new
lyrics, the song
is being released
as Kevin Lyttle’s
second single
off his debut
album with Atlantic
Records.
The song will
be supported by
a video! Get ready
world –
here comes Easy!
Nicky B is not
only just the
son of a talented
producer; Mickey
Bennett, but also
an artist in his
own right.
You’ve heard
him come with
his distinctive
style here and
there on a few
Dancehall riddims.
He’s definitely
making power moves
as he recently
opened for KANYE
WEST during a
three-week tour.
Nicky’s
recorded songs
on popular riddims
such as:
French Vanilla,
Good To Go and
Egyptian, all
produced by Don
Corleon.
SNOOP DOGG is
going to be the
emcee at SPIKE
TV’s annual
Video Game Awards.
Snoop’s
been featured
in games “True
Crime: Streets
of LA” and
“NBA Live
2003”.
In addition to
actually being
featured in several
games, he’s
had some of his
material in these
games as well
as: “Grand
Turismo 3: A Spec”,
“MTV Music
Generator 3: This
Is The Remix”
and more.
Snoo’s also
gearing up for
a new album “Snoop
Dogg: Rhytm &
Gangsta –
the Masterpiece”
coming this November.
USHER’s
album “Confessions”
is about to be
re-released.
On October 5th,
“Confessions”
will hit stores
with four new
songs including
“My Boo”
– collaboration
with Alicia Keyes.
There’s
also another remix,
this time of Confessions
Part 2 featuring
Kayen West, Twista
and Shyne. Lil
Jon has his hands
in this new album
with production
on the track “Red
Light”.
In addition,
this new release
will feature a
pullout poster,
letter from Usher
personally and
more. It’s
a bold move from
BMG to beat out
the Internet with
its endless file
sharing and stealing.
