HUMBLE THUGS

By Roberto Jose

While traveling with IJ Records Recording Group, Humble Thugs across the dirty south (Florida, parts of Georgia and up to South Carolina) to watch their many performances, it's easy to notice that the era of get crunked music have taken hold of this group reppin' the MIA area.

Besides the group's amazing chemistry, the lyrical style each member brings to the table is outrageous; Arsenol, who spits fire like the best of them, brings the hard, grimy, familiar voice of Hip-Hop to the group. Bo adds his smooth fresh lyrical sound, while Boss Lady infiltrates the group with her real life - this ain't no damn joke lyrical daggers coupled with her savvy fluctuating flow style only a Boss Lady can bring. Lil' Fool brings the southern charismatic sound that rounds out this group.

Humble Thugs are still fairly new to this music seen but the group is steadily gaining fans through their many "get crunked" performances and hot tracks produced by Guerilla Tek from Drum Majorz Productions. During one of the group performances in Jacksonville, FL at a Bigga Ranks of Cool Runnings show, it was impressive to hear the crowd knew the words to one of Humble Thugs singles - Shut Sh*t Down. Then off to Tallahassee, FL where 100.7 The Beat's Jo Jo McToy dropped Humble Thugs Gangsta Gangsta single to ridiculous on-air call in reviews. But it was the overwhelming support Humble Thugs received after their performance at the tribute to Uncle Al, Peace in da Hood event that most impressed the group. Lil' Fool explained, "It's nothing like that home team love". Boss Lady added, "We've been on the road opening for almost everybody - Mystikal, Eight Ball, Juvenile, Lil Flip, Field Mob but it's a good feeling to perform at the crib and get that home team love."

Now inquiring minds must know, can a thug be humble? "Yeah," shouts Arsenol. Bo explains, "Most thugs are humble, we're not out to cause you no harm unless we're provoked. You know, we respect the game, get you while I get me and it's all good, just don't hurt nobody. Feel me?"

Yeah, we feel Humble Thugs. On October 7th, 2003, after you pick up Humble Thugs debut album "This Be The Lik" listen to No Love featuring Piccalo to get the fullness on the groups name. Hot joints like Gangsta, Gangsta, Shut Sh*t Down, Getcha Mind Right featuring Juvenile and Hey Now are other hot joints.
